A Warwickshire delicatessen has made the ‘difficult decision’ to shut its doors following two ‘wonderful’ years of trading.
Kelly’s Deli launched on Henley-in-Arden High Street in November 2024, offering quality salads, sandwiches, cobs and additional fare.
A Stratford-upon-Avon branch opened earlier this year, though it was confirmed last week that the Henley outlet has ceased trading.
Following a temporary closure, Kelly’s Deli stated that a proposed new lease had influenced the decision not to continue operating in the Midlands town.
On social media, Kelly’s Deli wrote: “A heartfelt announcement. To all our lovely customers and the Henley-in-Arden community,”, reports Birmingham Live.
“It is with a very heavy heart that we share the news that Kelly’s Deli, Henley-in-Arden, will unfortunately not be reopening.
“We know many of you have been patiently waiting for an update, and we wanted to take the time to carefully consider our options, reach a final decision and speak with our current landlord before sharing the news.
“Following careful consideration of the proposed new lease and what would be sustainable for our business for the future, we have made the difficult decision not to reopen in Henley-in-Arden.
“This was not an easy decision, particularly because of how much the deli and local community mean to us.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us and made Kelly’s Deli part of your lives.
“You have been so much more than customers you have been part of our Kelly’s Deli family, and we are and always will be incredibly grateful.
“As some of you may know, although this chapter is coming to an end, the Kelly’s Deli family is still here.
“You can still find us at Kelly’s Deli in Bentley Heath and, more recently, at Kelly’s in Stratford-upon-Avon, just a short drive away. It has been wonderful to see so many familiar faces already.
“Thank you, Henley, for all the love, support and wonderful memories. We will always be grateful for the community we have been lucky enough to serve.
“With all our love and heartfelt thanks, The Kelly Family.”
