Dementia is often associated with memory loss, confusion and difficulty performing everyday tasks. But scientists are now looking at another possible clue that may appear much earlier: The way a person walks. Research has shown that changes in the brain linked to dementia can begin years, and even decades, before noticeable symptoms appear. Now, researchers at Texas A&M University are studying whether subtle changes in walking patterns could help identify these changes at an earlier stage.
