Aldi is opening a new store every week throughout September, creating up to 120 new jobs across the four locations. Following the opening of its new Balsall Common store near Solihull, Aldi will open a further three stores this September in Telford (Shropshire), Rayleigh (Essex) and Hoxton (East London), with up to 30 roles available at each location.
The openings form part of Aldi’s £370 million investment in new stores this year and its long-term ambition to operate 1,500 stores across the UK.

Aldi stores opening across September are:
Kenilworth Road, Balsall Common – 3 rd September
Waterloo Road, Ketley Point, Telford – 10 th September
Weir Retail Park, Rayleigh – 17 th September
Hackney Road, Hoxton – 24 th September
Aldi last week confirmed that all of its UK stores will close on Boxing Day this year, giving store colleagues the chance to enjoy more time with family and friends after the festive rush.
The UK’s biggest discounter will close on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, before welcoming customers back on Sunday 27 th December 2026.
Stores will also close on New Year’s Day and reopen on Saturday 2 nd January 2027.
Opening times will vary locally in the days before Christmas, with many stores extending their hours to help customers pick up everything they need for the festive period.

“We never take that effort for granted. Closing our stores on Boxing Day is one way of saying thank you and giving colleagues a proper chance to rest, switch off and spend more time with the people closest to them.”
