With no power or food, can two groups of ordinary people survive 28 days in the Apocalypse?
Year: 2026
Certificate: 12
This is such a great idea, to re-create The Walking Dead and countless other post-apocalyptic survival dramas and see how ordinary people would cope – with no power, no running water and scavenging or hunting for scant food. They’ve even got the perfect setting, an abandoned US town that was, ominously, built around a psychiatric facility. For 28 days two groups, unaware of each other’s existence, will be cut off from the outside world, learning to hunt, scavenge and deal with the messy business of cleaning up their waste. It promises a fascinating insight into human nature and what kind of ingenuity and resilience it takes to go the distance.
Except from the moment the two groups arrive at opposite ends of town the squabbling starts, and it seems the main purpose is to show how absolutely useless they’d be in a real crisis. It’s less a show about surviving the apocalypse but surviving each other. (Eight episodes)
