There has been considerable curiosity around Raaka, the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and director Atlee.
The film is also being mounted as the costliest project in both their careers, adding to the expectations surrounding the combination.
Positioned as a science-fiction film, Raaka reportedly revolves around creatures and supernatural elements.
The film is currently being shot in Mumbai, where a special soundstage has been created for motion-capture filming. Hollywood technicians are said to be supervising the technical work.
At a recent event in Chennai, Atlee was asked about the release date of Raaka. The director gave a brief response, saying that the film would arrive “very soon”.
He did not elaborate further when asked about the film’s release plans, including reports that Raaka could be split into two parts.
Allu Arjun is said to be playing a dual role in the film, while Deepika Padukone is the female lead.
There have also been reports that Mrunal Thakur, Janhvi Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna are part of the cast, although the makers have not officially confirmed their roles.
Sun Pictures is producing the film on a massive scale.
According to industry sources, the team is currently considering either December 4, 2027, or January 2028 for the release. However, there is no official confirmation on either date yet.
