Benjflow today charts his return with new single ‘Tears In The Club’.
The North London musician’s musical palette is informed by a keen sense of melody and rhythm, informed by everything from modern soul and grime to Alté inflections and slinky electronics.
After quitting his job in 2018 to pursue music full-time, Benji has gone on to establish himself away from the big label monopoly, with credits including Wretch 32 and Avelino. He released his project ‘The Thrill’ in 2022 and collaborative mixtape ‘ICONICY’ with Ragz Originale and Oscar #Worldpeace.
‘Tears In the Club’ is a bridge between past and future Benjiflow; a hypnotic number merging elements of Afrobeats and bossa nova with his signature mellow sensibility. It’s a late night immersion rooted in the here and now – a bittersweet paean to surviving hardships.
The single follows ‘Standing Here’, released in May, and is lifted from a forthcoming debut album, expected this Autumn.
