It’s the most wonderful time of the year and it’ll be here before you know it
The dates Cardiff Christmas market will run has been confirmed for the 2026 festive season.
A must-visit for tourists and locals alike, the Christmas markets are found in the heart of Cardiff‘s city centre, with stalls situated around the Hayes and the Museum of Cardiff, on St John Street, Working Street, Hills Street and Trinity Street.
In 2026 the Cardiff Christmas market will run from Thursday, November 12 to Wednesday, December 23.
Each year there are 70 stalls of over 200 individual businesses selling a wide variety of diverse arts and crafts and seasonal food and drink.
This year’s line-up of traders will be confirmed in due course and traders can still apply for the 2026 stint, here.
During its open season the market will open 10am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Late nights are Thursdays in December when the stalls stay open until 7pm and Sundays opening hours will be 10am to 5pm.
Entry is free.
As for Cardiff’s Winter Wonderland, an opening date has not been confirmed quite yet, but the attraction, which has fair rides, games, bars and ice skating all outside Cardiff’s City Hall Lawn and in Cardiff Castle, in previous years, is usually launched around mid-November, too.
We’ve inquired about opening dates for Winter Wonderland, light switch on and more Cardiff events and more information is due on September 16.
