Chad Lowe’s eldest daughter, Mabel, has spoken out about the death of her sister, Fiona.
On Tuesday, Pretty Little Liars actor Lowe and his wife, producer Kim Painter, announced the death of their daughter, Fiona, at age 13.
Her older sister, 17-year-old Mabel, said in a moving Instagram post Saturday: “I love you so much fiona. I wish your short time here was easier, and I hope your mind is at ease now.”
“I will honor you forever and keep your memory alive,” she continued. “I love you; I hope you knew just how much.”
Mabel shared several photos of her childhood with Fiona, including a photo of her sister dancing, and one of them playing at the beach.
American actor Melissa Gilbert commented on the post: “Beautiful, heartfelt tribute, sweet girl. Sending so much love.”
Lowe’s former co-star David Boreanaz said: “Lovely. Two peas in a pod forever.”
In a statement shared with multiple outlets Tuesday, the Lowe family said, “We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona. She was a loving young girl who was smart, creative and loved to dance.
“She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family said, adding, “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family, and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”
Lowe is best known for his Emmy-winning role in the ABC comedy-drama Life Goes On and for playing English literature professor Byron Montgomery in Pretty Little Liars. He is also the brother of Parks and Recreation star Rob Lowe.
Lowe celebrated Fiona’s birthday on Instagram last year, sharing a picture of his daughter alongside the caption: “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!! Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!!”
