Cosy crime comedy set on the beautiful southern French coast
Year: 2025
Certificate: 12
This French comedy crime drama is set in a very colourful police precinct in the south of France, in La Grande-Motte in Hérault – a region famous for its distinctive modernist architecture. Rookie new arrival Iris (Lucia Passaniti) knows how to follow the rules and is partnered with scruffy veteran Victor (Bruno Salomone), who prefers to work alone. These two clash straight away as they tackle their first case, the death of a lone runner on an isolated mountain track.
The investigations are lively and intriguing, and it’s fun getting to know the rest of the team. Led by the poised and no-nonsense Captain Janvert (Isabelle Candelier), they are the kind of cops who’ll leave their keys in the ignition so their car gets stolen, or who’ll quote decluttering queen Marie Kondo while tidying the records room. Meanwhile, Iris also digs into her own past, leading her to a shocking realisation at the series’ close. The show was a hit and will return for a second season, but sadly without Salomone, who passed away in 2026. (Eight episodes)
