A rival streaming platform is giving Crunchyroll a run for its money after adding over 1,300 hours of anime completely free of charge.
In its latest press release, Paramount’s free streaming platform Pluto TV revealed that it is adding a new slate of anime titles to its service in September. This includes popular shows like Inuyashiki, One-Punch Man and Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple. This will be the first time that the latter two anime will be getting an English dub release on a free streaming platform.
The addition of these new titles comes on the back of anime like Vinland Saga and Dororo being added to the platform recently. The brand-new titles that are being added to Pluto TV can be seen below. All of them are available in both Japanese audio with subtitles and English dub.

Furthermore, already-existing titles on the platform, including Naruto, Inuyasha, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead and others, will be receiving an expanded dub, meaning more episodes of these anime will be available in English dub on the platform.
Pluto TV is also adding two new anime channels: It’s Anime and Big A Anime. The It’s Anime channel may be particularly interesting to fans, as it will carry English-dubbed shows and include simulcasts of the latest anime that are airing in Japan, as well as adding new and classic dubbed anime titles.
The second channel, Big A Anime, will have a curated catalog that will include iconic anime like Vinland Saga, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress, Dororo and others. Together, all this anime content will add 1,300 hours of programming to the platform, giving audiences more options than ever to choose from.
Pluto TV Aims to Be the New Streaming Destination for Anime Fans
According to Will Gurman, SVP, Content Partnerships & Programming, Pluto TV, broadening dub availability will introduce the medium to audiences who might otherwise ignore it, while the expanding catalog serves longtime fans of the genre. “We’re building a destination that works for this big and growing audience,” he said.
On Pluto TV, adults aged 18-34 represent the fastest-growing audience and account for nearly half of all anime viewing hours. Furthermore, anime watchers spent nearly three times the time on the platform when compared to the average viewer.
In line with this metric, the free streaming service has been consistently growing its anime catalog over the years. In March 2026, it acquired all 293 episodes of Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, followed by marathons of popular franchises, including Bleach and Naruto in the month of May in a tie-up with Viz Media.
Pluto TV grew global viewing hours 21% to 9.5 billion in 2025 and also had 89.6 million monthly active users by the end of that year. With Crunchyroll shutting its free ad-supported streaming tier, Pluto TV continues to be an attractive legal avenue for viewers who want to watch popular anime content for free.
