Cruz Beckham just performed at Reading Festival with his band The Breakers amid a growing feud between Cruz’s eldest brother Brooklyn and his famous parents David and Victoria

Cruz Beckham is adamant he does not want to use his family’s name to catapult his career.
The musician – and the son of David and Victoria Beckham – has had quite a successful summer touring with his band, The Breakers, including a set at Reading Festival where his famous family watched from the wings.
It’s quite a contrast to their eldest son Brooklyn, who has shunned his family and has actively drew a fence between himself and his famous parents and siblings.
Brooklyn, who now lives in Los Angeles with wife Nicola Peltz, has tried multiple careers including being a chef, selling hot sauce and also as a photographer but none of it has quite worked.
“Not only is Cruz gaining success and being taken seriously on the music scene, but it’s also widely known that he’s refused his parents’ attempts to ‘connect him,'” a source told The Sun.
“He’s made it very clear that he wants to, and will be, doing this on his own – and with his band. Even in his early teens, Cruz made it very clear that wasn’t him. He wasn’t in this for celebrity, he didn’t want the kind of fame that was empty and fawning.”
For Cruz, his music ambition outweighs any wish for fame and celebrity status.
“He wanted to learn the instruments, to sit in his bedroom for hours humming tunes and creating songs,” a source said, with it also being revealed that Cruz was reportedly keen to ditch his name for the music avenue and just go by The Breakers.
It is in stark contrast to Brooklyn, who still uses his Peltz-Beckham surname. He has also made it quite clear how he feels about his family amid a feud between himself and his famous parents.
Cruz performed at Reading Festival with his band, as his proud family watched on. While on stage Cruz told the crowd at The Canopy: “This show is our second to last show on this tour and we’ve had an incredible time. It’s been amazing seeing everybody and just want to thank you for all the love and all the support. This next song, I’d like to dedicate to my little sister who’s just dancing right there.”
He also spoke about people’s perceptions of him and his music in an interview with Dork magazine and acknowledged why people might be sceptical. He said: “I understand that they would think that everything’s gonna be a bit s**t and a bit too polished.
“But you know, I love music, and I really love playing live, and I’m just excited to be able to do it. My experiences in life have been very different to a lot of people’s experiences, but I still feel like I’ve got something to say.”
