Schoolmate John Boyega is among those remembering the last hours of the murdered ten-year-old
Year: 2026
The murder of ten-year-old Damilola Taylor – when he was walking home from Peckham Library on 27 November, 2000 – caused shock and outrage across the nation. Twenty-six years later, this powerful one-off documentary revisits the killing, shedding fresh light on his final months and the events surrounding his death.
Among the contributors are the Star Wars actor John Boyega, who was just eight years old at the time and speaks here about being one of the last people to see Damilola alive. John, his sister Grace and other childhood friends take us back to the Peckham of 2000 and the dangerous street culture that surrounded a generation of young people. As much as it is a tragic film, it is also – in part – an uplifting remembrance of Damilola’s life before it was taken. (75 minutes)
