David Beckham had nothing but high praise for his wife Victoria as her fashion label held its latest show during Paris Fashion Week
David Beckham has paid a gushing tribute to wife Victoria after accusations their son Brooklyn tried to upstage them. The former Spice Girl. 52, held an impressive Paris Fashion Week show and David said he “couldn’t be prouder” of her.
The event on Friday saw Victoria’s fashion label hold its latest show at Conciergerie at 2 Boulevard du Palais. Many of the Beckham clan were in attendance and former England legend David was full of praise for his wife.
Sharing a sweet message on Instagram, David wrote: “We are so proud of you, yet again you show your elegance, passion & beauty in how you want people to feel in your clothes.
He went on: “We feel so lucky to be part of your beautiful night in a place that we love so much . Well done we couldn’t be prouder.”
The 51-year-old uploaded a photo of him with Victoria while also sharing a snap featuring their children Romeo, 24, Cruz, 21, and Harper, 15. His sons’ girlfriends Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel also smiled for the camera with the family.
The same image was shared by Victoria in her selection of social media snaps. She wrote: “To my friends and family, I feel so blessed to have you all by my side xxx.”
And David shared a reply in the comments section, saying: “We are all so proud of you as always. Pure elegance, grace & beauty, what a beauty show. We love you.”
Cruz also tagged his mum as he shared a photo on his story of the models walking on the runway. He wrote: “Killed it as always.”
Sadly for the family, Brooklyn was nowhere to be seen despite being in Paris. The public fallout continues and Brooklyn, 27, and wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, 31, avoided his mother’s show.
It comes after Brooklyn’s explosive statement in which he said he wanted nothing to do with his family any more. He accused his parents of “controlling” him and “trying to ruin” his relationship with his wife.
In his outburst, he said: “”I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
He added: “My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped. My mum cancelled making Nicola’s dress in the eleventh hour despite how excited she was to wear her design, forcing her to urgently find a new dress.
“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children.”
While in Paris, the couple attended other fashion week shows, including Balenciaga and Messika, leading people to accuse the pair of trying to upstage Victoria.
One source said: “Brooklyn and Nicola must know that their presence there will get everyone talking. It feels like a calculated move particularly as it’s not really clear what the pair’s fashion credentials are to be attending these shows in the first place.”
