As Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle nears its two-year anniversary, its highly anticipated sequel may finally have a release date. The news follows Netflix’s surprise acquisition of Infinity Castle, just months after the film debuted on Crunchyroll.
While it remains unconfirmed, multiple reports suggest that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Part 2 could arrive sometime in 2027. The Guardian previously reported a 2027 release window before later backing away from the claim, while anime studio Ufotable appeared to rule out a 2026 release in its production reel highlighting “future projects,” which also included its upcoming Genshin Impact adaptation.
However, current online listings have fueled speculation about a 2027 release. Film industry tracking site The Numbers currently lists an “Untitled Crunchyroll/Sony Pictures Film” for September 17, 2027. (H/T @WSJ_manga).

Sony Pictures released Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle internationally through its anime-streaming brand, Crunchyroll. The film premiered theatrically in Japan on July 18, 2025, followed by its U.S. release on Sept. 12, 2025. As of today, Infinity Castle has earned more than $793.5 million worldwide.
