The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh received donations totalling Rs 58.25 crore during the 2025-26 financial year, according to details submitted to the Election Commission of India.
The disclosure was made in the party’s contribution report submitted to the poll panel by TDP general secretary P. Ashok Babu. A substantial share of the contributions came through the Prudent Electoral Trust.
According to the report, the trust made six separate contributions amounting to Rs 45 crore to the TDP. VPR Mining Infrastructure Private Limited, which has a Jubilee Hills address in Hyderabad, contributed Rs 5 crore, while TDP MP Sana Satish Babu donated Rs 1.16 crore.
CNAPS Intellicad Private Limited, based in Bandlaguda Jagir, Hyderabad, contributed Rs 1 crore, while Sri Rayalaseema Hi-Strength Hypo Limited of Kurnool also donated Rs 1 crore. The remaining amount came from several other donors in smaller contributions.
The party’s contribution figures show a decline compared with the previous two financial years. The numbers come after the TDP-led alliance returned to power in Andhra Pradesh in 2024.
The TDP received around Rs 83 crore in donations during 2024-25 and Rs 100 crore in 2023-24. The Rs 58.25 crore reported for 2025-26 therefore represents a decline of roughly Rs 25 crore from the previous financial year and a much steeper fall compared with 2023-24.
Separately, the party received substantial contributions during its annual Mahanadu event held this year. According to figures cited in the report, donations worth Rs 25.61 crore were collected over two days.
The first day saw contributions of Rs 12.44 crore, while Rs 13.17 crore was collected on the second day. TDP MLA Vemireddy Prashanti Reddy and Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy together contributed Rs 5 crore during the event.
The party has said that donations are used, among other purposes, for the welfare of its workers. TDP’s membership-linked welfare programme provides accident insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh to active party workers who pay Rs 100 as a membership fee.
The insurance programme is being implemented with the support of United India Insurance Company.
