The South London maverick has been teasing her new video on socials, with each successive clip going viral. Part of her breakout era, dexter in the newsagent has now unleashed ‘Fantasy’ in full.
Directed by Iris Luz, dexter steps into a neon phone booth in an open field as banknotes fly around her, a mixture of the stark and surreal, and the glamorous and luxuriant.
Very much working in her own lane, ‘Fantasy’ echoes the themes so prevalent on recent project ‘Time Flies’, while also steering her into the future.
When she sings “I wanna be a millionaire” few can bet against her.

“I wrote this song earlier this year when I lost a bunch of money and was feeling quite lost. I was watching random car drive-through videos of rich areas on youtube and I wanted to write a song about money from the perspective we all have when you’re a kid and you just wonder what it’s like to have a big fancy car, walk in wardrobe or a chef. That’s where the song came from and I love everything about how fancy and dreamy it feels, it’s like my own fantasy world where I am a millionaire.”
