The All India Students’ Association-Students’ Federation of India (AISA-SFI) have today announced a joint panel for the upcoming Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections 2026-27. The alliance will be headed by Ananya Raturi this time, who will be contesting for the post of President.
As part of the panel, Akshat Shikhar from AISA will contest for the post of Vice President from the AISA-SFI alliance, Stanzin Deskyong from SFI will contest for the post of Secretary, and B Parijaat from SFI will contest for the post of Joint Secretary.
Meet the Members
Ananya Raturi from AISA hails from Uttarakhand and is aiming to uphold and fight for the vision of an accessible and affordable DU.
Akshat Shikhar who hails from Allahabad is enrolled in Motilal Nehru College and had appeared for NEET UG 2026.
Stanzin Deskyong is a first-year MSc Mathematics student from Hindu College. She completed her undergraduate education at Ramjas College, where she served as the Vice President of the Ramjas College Students’ Union. She is the first Ladakhi student to contest DUSU elections. She comes from an ST community from Leh, Ladakh.
B Parijat is a first-year MA English student from Hansraj College. He completed his undergraduate studies at PGDAV College, where he served as the President of the Literary Society, and was also involved in the college’s theatre society.
This time, candidates had to file their nominations by September 10, and they were given a chance to withdraw their nominations by 12 pm of September 11 (Friday). Students from Delhi University (DU) will now cast their votes for these candidates on September September 18 (Friday), and the counting of votes will will take place on September 19 (Saturday).
NSUI and ABVP Also Announce Candidates
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) also announced their final list of candidates for DUSU elections 2026-27. As per the list released by the student wing, Yash Dabas will be contesting for the post of DUSU President, Ishu Maurya for Vice President, Riya Chhabri for Secretary, and Lakshyaraj Singh for the post of Joint Secretary.
National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) will be represented by Vijay Shankar who will be contesting the DUSU elections for the post of President. Veer Chhatrath will be contesting for the position of Vice President, Namrata Choudhary for the post of Secretary, and Gopal Choudhary for the post of Joint Secretary.
