A new coffee house has opened its doors today (September 10) in Birmingham, but it has a twist, it also serves as the city’s first dry bar.
For the uninitiated, KÄI dry bar is an alcohol-free venue serving “real alcohol-free spirits, liqueurs and alternatives.”
By day, it will offer “crafted drinks, flavoured matchas, traybakes and small bites” but at night its menu will transform into specifically crafted mocktails.

It is open from 10am to 10pm each day with a wide selection of drinks on offer, from rhubarb custard or toasted pear marchas, to dark Spanish hot chocolates.
Of course, there are also all the coffee staples to expect, including espressos, macchiatos, lattes, flat whites, including Spanish lattes and cortado.
Their mocktail menu is extensive as well, from The Admiral, a 0% gin, yuzu and blue curacao and orange blend, or The Muse, a 0% gin, lychee and rose and yoghurt mix.
On their website, they state: “KÄI is the vision of Cyrus, a young creative with a love for all things fashionable, niche and unexpected.
“The idea was simple: create the kind of place he wanted to go to himself.
“Somewhere stylish but comfortable, distinctive without trying too hard, and where not drinking alcohol never means settling for the boring option.”
They are located on 3 Great Hampton Street at B18 6AQ and customers are already making themselves at home.
