Pa. Ranjith, who has been keen to collaborate with Sobhita for some time, praised her performance and commitment to the film, Vettuvam. Calling her a “brilliant actor”, he revealed that she did not use a dupe for any of her shots.
“I have watched a lot of her work, and I have been wanting to work with her for a long time, and she also has been wanting to work with me and it happened with this one. She’s a brilliant actor. Every actor has given their best for sure. Sobhita did not do even one shot with the help of a dupe. Everything was her,” Ranjith said.
He added that stunt doubles were present only during camera rehearsals, while Sobhita performed the actual shots herself. The actress also spoke about the physical demands of the film and the difficulty involved in executing some of its action choreography.
“Some of the things we are doing here in this film, it takes 15 years or 20 years of practice to achieve that kind of choreography, but every single shoot day we did the stunts with a lot of spirit and teamwork,” Sobhita said.
“Vettuvam” marks Sobhita’s collaboration with Pa. Ranjith and gives her an action-oriented role that required extensive physical preparation.
