Filmmakers concentrating on roots to target globally. Of late the scale of filmmaking is increasing. Earlier the story and narration used to be confined to just regionally and now it is reaching global. In the meantime, the thought process of filmmakers regarding regional and pan India films is changing.
The makers instead of budget is deciding on the roots of the stories. They are now believing on think local and go global and irrespective of the region of the story, if the emotions are strong, it will connect chords with the viewers across the world. Young filmmakers are showing interest in coming with raw and rustic films with rooted nativity.
Genex also is opposing the notion that all the films should forcibly turn into pan India entertainers. They are of the opinion that huge budget, cast from various languages and releasing in ten languages will not turn the film into a pan India film. The story should have global emotions and larger than life concept to take to the pan India project and otherwise it is better to turn the film into a regional film.
Regional films with limited budgets are becoming experiments for new directors as they are coming up with different genres, emotions and without any restrictions on stardom. They feel that this is giving them scope to experiment with low risk.
