Venue at farmhouse is described as ‘traditional’ and hoping to be known for its cask ales and wine
A new countryside pub will finally open its doors in Solihull – and it’s only days away.
Located on the 300-year-old Tidbury Farm, The Mallard was originally granted planning permission in February 2023.
Operated by Brunning & Price, the farmhouse is described as ‘a traditional pub restaurant serving fresh food, cask ales and wine’.

Days before the opening, The Mallard had been at the centre of a pub licence hearing after the pub planned to increase its alcohol hours.
According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the pub applied to increase hours of selling alcohol from 9am to 11.30pm, a change from the scheduled format of 10.30am to 11pm.
An amendment to the approved layout plan and inclusion of an external terrace area had led to concern from a resident.
Neighbour Keeley Fothergill said: “An outdoor drinking area has the potential to generate noise from conversations, raised voices, laughter, smoking-area activity, music and general customer activity.”
But Heath Thomas, representing applicant pub operator Brunning & Price, said there had been no objection from responsible authorities.
He said: “When I look at the concerns it is one resident that has raised a representation. The better way of putting it – they are perceived concerns, ‘I think this will happen’.”
One thing which will definitely happen is the opening this month and The Mallard announced online that it would open on Friday October 15.
The Mallard will be located on Tidbury Green Farm, Solihull, B90 1QZ
