France Fuel Crisis Explodes: 1 in 9 Stations Facing Shortages, Diesel Hits Record

Diesel Prices Keep Climbing

The supply crunch is unfolding alongside a sharp rise in fuel prices. Diesel averaged around €2.38 per litre on Thursday, according to Reuters, putting it close to its previous record. By Friday, an AFP analysis based on prices from more than 9,000 stations found that average diesel prices had pushed past €2.39 per litre, officially breaking the previous record set back in April 2026.
