Glastonbury 2027 tickets sell out in under an hour as lineup still to be announced

General admission tickets to Glastonbury 2027 have sold out in under an hour, with the festival set to return after its traditional fallow year.

Lucky fans celebrated as they got their hands on tickets to the Worthy Farm event, which will take place in Somerset between Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 June.

Anyone who didn’t manage to get tickets will have another chance when the Glastonbury resale takes place in April.

The speedy sale time didn’t manage to beat the previous record from 2014, when 120,000 tickets were snapped up in 26 minutes.

The second sale on Sunday 4 October took place after the coach tickets sold out in less than 30 minutes on Thursday, where hopeful festival-goers were thrown off by a major change to the buying system.

Shortly before the coach tickets sale kicked off, fans noticed that users can no longer log in on multiple devices, with a registration code producing just one queue number.

The change appears to be an attempt to tackle bots. However, it also scuppered the plans of fans who use a “syndicate” system where groups of friends use the same registration code to try and better their chances.

Rumours about who will headline next year’s event at Worthy Farm have been swirling for months, with the lineup still to be announced.

Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis has ruled out both Madonna and Oasis, in spite of heavy speculation – and an apparent hint from Madonna herself – that the queen of pop and the Manchester rock band could be topping the bill on the Pyramid Stage.

However, she did confirm that all of the headliners have been booked: “We’re very excited about it,” she told BBC Radio 4’s PM programme in August. “It’s all coming together really well.”

Other acts rumoured for a headliner spot include pop star Taylor Swift, Irish rock band Fontaines DC, Mercury Prize-winning rock singer Sam Fender, pop star Harry Styles and soul singer Olivia Rodrigo.

The 2025 festival was headlined by UK rock band The 1975, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts, and pop star Olivia Rodrigo, with Rod Stewart in the Legends Slot.

Tickets for the weekend are priced at £408 including a £5 booking fee per ticket – an increase of £29.50 from 2025, when tickets cost £378.50.

When the new price was announced, some fans shared their frustration at the increased price, with one writing on social media: “£408. And £100 deposit. Ouch!!”

Another agreed, writing: “It’s just a shock to see it in the 400s now. Still good value for money when you look at the bands playing and price of single gig tickets but this is the first year I’m very much against paying.”

Echoing this, one fan wrote: “This does make me consider the price for the first time, that’s a lot even for Glasto.”

However, as Glastonbury didn’t run in 2026, others argued that a close to £15 increase year on year was reasonable compared to many other festivals.

As part of the festival’s campaign to stop touts, fans must have registered to get tickets before 5pm on Friday 25 September.

The Glastonbury 2027 lineup is expected to be announced in the coming months.
