Glastonbury tickets sell out in just 42 minutes as fans left gutted after missing out

Glastonbury tickets have sold out in just 42 minutes after they went on sale at 9am on Sunday morning

Glastonbury fans have been left gutted after tickets sold out in just 42 minutes today.

It will be the first festival in two years in 2027 after Worthy Farm had a fallow year in 2026. It will take place from Wednesday 23rd June to Sunday 27th June 2027, with tickets going on sale again at 9am this morning – but they were already all gone by 9.42am.

Glasto fans have been left devastated and took to X to share their disappointment, with one writing: “#glastonbury well that was a an hour of my life I will never get back. Resigned to never going again. Hey ho need to find a different festival for next year.”

Another fumed: “I was only in the queue to try to prove a point that you wont get tickets anyway. #glastonbury”

A third lamented: “Another fallow year for me #glastonbury.”

“#glastonbury. Another year, more shattered dreams; but with the side effect that all future green progress bars will drive me to psychosis and tears,” another wept.

Posting on Instagram, the festival’s official page said: “Tickets for Glastonbury 2027 have now sold out.

“Thank you to everyone who bought one and we’re sorry to those of you who missed out on a morning where demand greatly exceeded supply.

“There will be a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2027.”

On Thursday the first lot of tickets – coach tickets – went on sale at 6pm BST, but they sold out in less than half an hour.

General admission tickets for next year’s festival cost £408 – an increase of £29.50 from 2025.

It comes after a new system was introduced this year to tackle bots and resellers. Festival hopefuls are now required to enter a registration number before they enter the queue. Previously, this was only required once they had secured tickets. Entering the same number on a different devices or browsers will not work – each person is assigned only one place in the queue.

News about the line-up is not yet confirmed, but some huge names have been thrown into the mix. It’s claimed that Harry Styles, Sam Fender and Taylor Swift could possibly be headlining the legendary Pyramid Stage.

According to bookies, Styles, who has never performed at Glastonbury, and Sam, who performed in June 2022, carry odds of 40 per cent. Taylor, however, is at 29 per cent, while Fred again.. is listed at 20 per cent.

However, following speculation that Madonna could be headlining, boss Emily Eavis has confirmed that this won’t be the case. Speaking on Radio 4’s PM programme last month, she said of the headliners: “No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that.”

However, she confirmed that the headline acts had already been secured a year in advance. She said: “But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well.”
