In only a few days, Nottingham’s Forest Recreation Ground will have been transformed into a place of action-packed entertainment for the whole family.
Between Friday, September 25 and Sunday, October 4, hundreds of rides, attractions and food stalls will be opening for people to enjoy Goose Fair.
From 280ft-tall rides like the Elevate 85 to Skyfall, the world’s tallest portable drop tower, more than 300 attractions and stalls will bring entertainment to the city.
With most rides having arrived on the site, organisers have released a map – which is subject to change ahead of the event – to display where the attractions are set to be found on the fairground.
Some of the fair’s tallest and most thrilling rides will be located to the west of the park, including the new addition Psycho, a looping thrill ride that spins and swings its riders through the air.
The Kids’ Corner is located near the north entrance of the park, and behind it will be the Vintage Funfair as well as the Lost City Funhouse.
Near the tram stop entrance, visitors can find the Gravity ride, Storm, Waltzer and Dodgems – a number of family rides mixed with some more thrilling ones.
Businesses at the Forest, including Homemade Café and Forest Sports Zone, will remain open as usual during Goose Fair.
Councillor David Mellen, executive member for leisure, culture and tourism at Nottingham City Council, said: “With just one week to go until Goose Fair returns, excitement is really starting to build across the city. As the first rides arrive on site, we’re looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors for one of Nottingham’s most iconic events.
“This year’s fair will feature a fantastic mix of traditional favourites alongside exciting new rides and attractions, ensuring there’s something for every generation to enjoy.
“We’re also pleased to be introducing an earlier opening time on Friday, giving people even more opportunity to experience Goose Fair, whether they prefer to visit during the day, in the evening or over the weekend.
“Goose Fair is not only a much-loved tradition, it also delivers significant benefits for Nottingham, attracting visitors from across the region, supporting local businesses and showcasing the city as a vibrant destination for events. We can’t wait to see the fairground lights return and welcome everyone back for another memorable year.”
