It may not be out until November 19, but Grand Theft Auto 6 will undoubtedly be the best-selling game of this year, and probably the next five or ten years to come. Needless to say, a game this huge and this popular deserves its own line of dedicated merchandise, beginning with two limited edition GTA 6 controllers for the PlayStation 5.
Launching in time for the release of GTA 6 in November, the new controllers will be available to pre-order on the PlayStation Direct website from 10am BST UK time on the morning of September 10. The controllers will go on sale at 10am local time in all regions (or 7am PT for the west coast of the US), so you won’t have to stay up late in order to secure your pad.
Of course, there are two different versions of the GTA 6 DualSense controllers, so hopefully you’ll be able to secure at least one.
Unveiled during a recent State of Play, there’s the Grand Theft Auto 6 Black Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller and the Grand Theft Auto 6 White Limited Edition pad.
Both controllers are said to capture the essence of Vice City, featuring patterns and colours associated with the fictional region.
As Sony points out, the controllers feature a “shimmering, colour-shifting finish” that are said to bring together the hues of a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon lights.
“They both also feature custom palm tree details moulded directly into the controller, adding a unique tactile element alongside official Grand Theft Auto VI branding,” Sony adds.
The controllers cost £74.99 each, or $84.99 if you live in the US, and €84.99 in Europe.
The PS5 DualSense controller is part of the reason why GTA 6 is said to play best on PlayStation.
The DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are said to instantly respond to the action and provide dynamic resistance.
Finally, the pad’s integrated speaker is used for various sound effects and interactions within the game.
