Luckily, the Grand Theft Auto series has accumulated enough goodwill over the years for fans to throw down cash without seeing what the game actually looks like.

Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have waited a long time to see the game in action, and the wait is almost over. The official Rockstar YouTube channel has revealed that the Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look Trailer will be shown exclusively on Netflix on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET. This means the first proper Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer is only a week away, as of the time of writing.
The duration of the Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look Trailer is currently unknown, but if Rockstar is promoting it this heavily, it should be at least 30 minutes to an hour long. This should give fans plenty of time to finally see what the game looks like on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Initially, Rockstar only said that the Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look Trailer would appear on Netflix, which raised concerns among fans who aren’t subscribed to the service. It has now been revealed that the trailer will also be broadcast on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto 6 site at 9 p.m. ET on August 27.
Netflix must have paid a lot of money for the chance to stream the first gameplay trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 exclusively, but that might not have been the wisest investment. A six-hour wait to see a trailer isn’t that long, and it’s likely going to be livestreamed and uploaded to unofficial channels long before then. If the hope was that the Grand Theft Auto 6: An Extended Look Trailer would bring in new subscribers, Netflix might have underestimated the audience for the most popular video game series about criminals.
