Harry Potter fans race to grab £18 Lego Fawkes set for £3 as HBO trailer drops

While the show’s premiere is still a few months away, launching on Christmas Day, it’s the stocking filler at £3 instead of £18

HBO released its latest teaser for its new Harry Potter season this week, revealing a wave of new footage that fans of the Wizarding World can look forward to. While the show’s premiere is still a few months away, launching on Christmas Day, fans can keep themselves busy ahead of time by taking advantage of a deal on a special Harry Potter LEGO set.

Currently, Argos is offering the LEGO Fawkes set for £18, which, while affordable for a major LEGO set, can be brought down even further. This is thanks to a cashback deal from TopCashback that could see some Potterheads pay less than £3 in total on their LEGO set.

TopCashback is offering those who are new to signing up while being new Argos customers the opportunity to grab the LEGO set for £2.84 after cashback has been applied. Meanwhile, those who are new TopCashback members but are existing Argos customers can instead get the set for £2.93.

It’s important to note that the above prices include Argos’ free click-and-collect service. However, those who want it delivered straight to their door will need to pay an additional £4.95 for standard delivery.

The LEGO Fawkes set allows Harry Potter fans to have their very own phoenix in their home. The buildable toy comes with posable limbs, letting you set it up in exactly the way that you want.

It also comes with a variety of accessories as hints towards the movies, including your own Sorting Hat and Sword of Gryffindor, which can be gripped by the LEGO Fawkes’ talons. With 299 pieces, this is also a relatively easy set to build, with the finished figure standing at 16cm tall.

However, if you want something a little different to scratch that wizard itch, you could opt for the Lexibook Harry Potter Electronic Chess Game, which is available for £119.99. This chess set is perfect for any fan of the first film, featuring figures and lights to elevate any chess game.

Otherwise, you could snap up the Clementoni-Harry Potter Terrarium Kit, which has been reduced on Amazon from £13.99 to £13.59. This terrarium set lets you build your own magical greenhouse akin to Hagrid’s Hut.

Customers who already snapped up the LEGO Fawkes set awarded it a near-perfect 4.9-star rating, with one happy shopper writing: “Bought as a gift for our Harry Potter mad son, really well priced with lots of attention to detail. Really like how it includes a baby Phoenix, the sorting hat and Griffindor sword as it tells the story.”

Another added: “Bought as a gift. Recipient very pleased. Another good one from Lego!” A third said: “Great description, easily ordered online & collected in store. My son was able to make by himself and enjoyed building it, finished piece is a nice size to put on a shelf.”

A fourth added: “Very happy with this purchase, made the perfect present for a Harry Potter fan!” A fifth said: “Beautifully made, easy to follow instructions looks lovely once built hours of fun!”

While a sixth said: “Inexpensive LEGO set to boost my already growing Harry Potter LEGO collection. I can’t keep buying the big expensive sets so this set was perfect.”

However, one less pleased customer wrote: “This Harry Potter Fawkes LEGO is amazing! It looks amazing, and once my son got the hang of it (and not building it upside down haha) it was fairly simple. I think that the age range may need to be increased on the product OR better visual instructions given. This is would make a lovely gift for any Potter and Lego fan!”

Another added: “Looks good when complete, the instructions were a little confusing when I got to p40. As a 39-year-old I had to take a break and my 17-year-old finished it off. I feel like the phoenix isn’t completely stable on the perch. For an Adult collector that won’t play with it, good item. Will easily come apart if a child plays with it.”
