Little Sprout temporarily closed for improvements last month

A Heswall café is reopening in a bigger space after temporarily closing last month. Little Sprout has been “busy working on something much more exciting” and teased a new chapter including a larger team and offering.
The venue is the sister site to Sprout Kitchen Garden, nestled within the Premier Plants of Ledsham garden centre near Ellesmere Port. Little Sprout opened in 2024 in the Premier Plants of Heswall garden centre, expanding on the businesses’ popular brunch and sweet treat offerings.
In a statement shared on social media in August, Little Sprout announced the temporary closure would help the business return in “a much better position to serve you all”. Little Sprout promised “we don’t know when we will be back […] but we will be back!”
The statement said: “We’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close Little Sprout whilst we carry out some improvements to ensure the future of the business and the experience we provide.
“The good news is that when we reopen, Little Sprout will be in a much better position to serve you all. Our aim is to create a smoother, more efficient experience, allowing us to keep up with the incredible support you’ve shown us and continue serving more of you, more effectively.”
In a recent update, Little Sprout is preparing to reopen its doors as a bigger concept. A message on Instagram read: “While Little Sprout has been closed for some very boring (but necessary) back-of-house fixes, we’ve also been busy working on something much more exciting.
“We’re building a bigger Little Sprout! Our new space is currently in the works, giving us more room to grow Little Sprout, expand what we can offer and build the team ready for our next chapter. We’ll be sharing plenty more about the new space over the coming weeks.
“But in the meantime, we’re reopening our original Little Sprout. Whilst we juggle the new build and go through the hiring process for our growing team, we’ll initially be opening 3 days a week — Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
“We’ll take it week by week and, whenever we’re able to add extra opening days, we’ll let you know!
“We’re so excited to get the doors back open, see all of our lovely customers again and to finally share what we’ve been working on behind the scenes.”
