How Chanel Boots Helped Star Tennis Player Donna Vekic Win a US Open Match

Despite what you might think, most tennis players don’t have a lot of control over their kits. Between sponsorship deals and Grand Slam dress codes, it’s up to pros like Donna Vekic to find creative ways to make their personal style come through on the court. For the Dash Diamonds cofounder, the solution is always jewelry.

Ellesse likes to keep it chic and elegant, which is my style off the court as well,” the 30-year-old Croation tennis star says of her sportswear sponsor. “I like to experiment, but I don’t like to experiment too much. I keep things simple.”

The Italian sports apparel brand sent her on the court in two elegant looks designed “years in advance” for the 2026 US Open: a royal blue and red tennis set and matching visor for her daytime matches, and a long-sleeve black version of the look for evening play. The vibrant rainbow choker necklace that she wore, on the other hand, was all Vekic.

Beyond winning five career singles titles and ranking #37 in the world, Donna Vekic cofounded her diamond jewelry brand in January 2026 with one simple mission statement: “Diamonds shouldn’t sit quietly in a box—they should live boldly in your everyday.” Yes, even on the tennis court.

Vekic designed her one-of-a-kind multicolor sapphire choker necklace after seeing her royal blue tennis outfit for the US Open, finishing off the look with a pair of yellow, pink, and colorless diamond earrings she made for herself as a present for winning the Queen’s Club Championships earlier this year. “I’m obsessed with jewelry,” she says. “That’s how I like to show my style on the court.”
