A renowned Manchester city centre restaurant which was named in the 2025 Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide has announced a shock closure ‘with immediate effect’.
Located in Deansgate Mews, Another Hand opened in early 2022 and was soon named the Best Newcomer at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards. Then only eight months after opening it achieved national acclaim when it was added to the November edition of the Michelin Inspectors’ Favourite New Restaurants.
In 2025 it was named in the Michelin Guide, Good Food Guide and Good Food Guide’s list of the best 100 local restaurants. Only three weeks ago it was named by TimeOut magazine as one of the best restaurants in Manchester.

The neighbourhood-style restaurant on Deansgate Mews focused on sharing plates made with produce from local ethical growers. It was launched by the team behind 3 Hands Deli, which operated from a site two units down.
Now the restaurant has announced its closure on Instagram ‘with immediate effect’ citing the ‘current economic climate’. In a post shared on Instagram on Tuesday, September 22, Another Hand wrote: “With heavy hearts we are sad to announce that after five years Another Hand will be closing its doors with immediate effect.
“Unfortunately, as most of us know, the current economic climate for the hospitality sector is facing steep challenges, sadly a familiar story. And after five years of operating within this increasingly challenging environment, we feel it’s time for us to step away.
“This isn’t a decision we’ve taken lightly, but it feels like the right time to bring this chapter to an end.
“We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built here. From the people who have worked alongside us, to the producers and suppliers who have supported us; and most importantly, everyone who has come through the door and eaten with us…. thank you!
“Another Hand has been a huge part of our lives, and we’re grateful to have had the opportunity to share it with you. Thank you for everything.”
