If anyone knows about early mornings, it’s Heart Breakfast radio presenter Amanda Holden. The TV star and broadcaster has revealed the beauty product she relies on to help her look bright-eyed and fresh – and it’s currently available for less.

The yellow-toned concealer aims to brighten the under-eye area while helping to create a more awake-looking complexion – making it a fitting addition to the morning routines of anyone who, like Amanda, is up with the alarm clock. The TV star raved about the concealer via Instagram: “This Banana Lowlighter is one of Rodial’s most iconic products.

As well as Amanda, it’s also one of my go-to products, leaving me with a subtle, wide-awake glow that looks completely natural rather than harsh. As well as my under-eyes, I usually dab some on my chin to disguise lingering redness, and on my cheekbones for an instant, natural lift.
It feels completely weightless on the skin but layers up like a dream, so I could easily build more coverage without worrying about it looking cakey or dry. The Banana Lowlighter also tends to last for hours without creasing or fading, though I still like to keep it in my handbag for the occasional top-up.
Even better, the concealer also doubles up as skincare. It contains hydrating hyaluronic acid and vitamin E, as well as caffeine, which helps to moisturise, refresh and depuff. Plus, it comes with a precise wand applicator, making it easy to target specific areas.
However, even with the discount, the £30+ price tag might be off-putting to some. In that case, I also recommend Glossier’s Stretch Balm Concealer (£22), which effectively covers dark circles, blemishes, and redness.
Elsewhere, I recently introduced Laura Mercier’s new Secret Camouflage Complexion Perfector (£29, Lookfantastic) into my routine. It has three shades, so it’s easy to blend to the desired skin tone (handy if I’m wearing fake tan), and it feels lightweight and nourishing.
Back to Rodial, Amanda and I aren’t the only fans of the Banana Lowlighter; it’s earned a solid 4.9-star rating from fans, too. This person shared: “This is one of the few concealers that doesn’t cake or settle into fine lines.
