Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has reportedly signed up for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2026, after years of turning the show down.
The Sun reports that the 48-year-old has “finally given in”, claiming that show bosses had tried to sign Wilson up “for years, but he’s always politely declined”.
A spokesperson for ITV has previously Radio Times: “Any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here are just speculation.”
Wilson is best known for fronting Leeds indie band Kaiser Chiefs, behind hits including Ruby, I Predict a Riot and Oh My God. Over the years he has also appeared on TV as a coach on The Voice UK, and more recently appeared on the BBC’s Extraordinary Portraits.
Wilson is the latest name to be thrown into the rumour mill, amid casting reports of Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page, Mis-Teeq singer Su-Elise Nash, Strictly professional Nadiya Bychkova and Olympic figure skater Christopher Dean.
Paralympian and TV presenter Ade Adepitan has also been rumoured to join, with reports suggesting ITV are keen to adapt the camp.
A source told The Sun that Adepitan has been in “talks” with I’m A Celebrity, adding: “Producers are currently looking at ways to adapt the camp to make it work for Ade. They think his infectious larger-than-life personality would make him a perfect campmate for the new series.”
Adepitan contracted polio as an infant, which caused damage to his legs that required him to use a wheelchair.
After moving to the United Kingdom, he became a wheelchair basketball player and was part of the British team that played at the 2004 summer Paralympics. He has since become a prominent TV presenter, with a career of over 20 years.
If Adepitan were to join the cast, he would be the first contestant to use a wheelchair on the show.
