Mario Carbone and Cait Bailey Carbone don’t know how the paparazzi found out about their New York wedding reception, but they did. To be fair, when you invite 560 of your closest friends word might get out. And when your closest friends include names like Alix Earle and Sylvester Stallone, it definitely will. So on September 13, instead of hovering outside a New York Fashion Week show or The Greenwich, New York’s camera pack instead staked out the event. As black-tie guests entered into the Seagram Building, they did so to a cacophony of camera flashes, like they were attending one of those British royal weddings with a pap walk.
Although in a way… it kind of was? Sure Carbone, born and raised in Queens in a very Italian household, and Bailey Carbone, who jokes she’s a “Maryland delight,” aren’t the heirs of Queen Elizabeth. Yet, they each rule their own empire.
Carbone, along with Rich Torrisi and Jeff Zalaznick, built Major Food Group—the powerhouse hospitality company that runs Carbone, Torrisi, ZZ’s Clam Bar, The Grill, Sadelle’s, the $30,000 a year Carbone Privato, the luxury Miami condo project Villa Miami and their own line of grocery store pasta sauces. Bailey Carbone, meanwhile, is the former public relations representative and current powerhouse brand strategist who molded the careers of Alex Cooper, Alix Earle, as well as Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, and has her own following—nearly 88,000 on Instagram—despite only having one on-grid post.
