The partnership arrives hot off the heels of J.Crew’s Rollneck Remix campaign, which saw its iconic cotton sweater reimagined by five ascendant indie labels, Eckhaus Latta among them. Response to Eckhaus Latta’s spin on the rollneck was so enthusiastic that the two brands decided to keep the momentum going with a limited-edition collection that splices each brand’s DNA together.
The 27-piece capsule features no shortage of oddball turns on J.Crew’s deep backlog of hits, including its barn jacket, rugby shirt, and chinos, and spans men’s, women’s, and, endearingly, kids’ clothing. Pastels and primary colors are sparse here. Instead, supremely textured knits take center stage, in the form of a flurry of brushed cashmeres, piles of thick-gauge marled pullovers, rollnecks, and burnt-lime twinsets.
