John Wick star and still somehow the most underrated action icon in the game, Scott Adkins, joins forces with an ’80s action movie legend in a new look at his upcoming franchise finale. Pushing the phrase “non-stop action” to its absolute limits, the actor and martial artist will demonstrate his particular set of skills for one last long take in One Last Shot, the third and final outing in Adkins’ unique action thriller series.
Putting his skills to the test like never before, the first One Shot was released back in 2021, with director James Nunn throwing Adkins’ elite Navy SEAL Lt. Jake Harris into the fray…and then taking eyes off him. Tasked with retrieving a prisoner from a CIA black site, One Shot does the seemingly impossible as, through ingenious edits, it makes the whole movie look like one long, continuous take. Think the Oscar-winning Birdman meets the Netflix action thriller Extraction.
A sequel, One More Shot, landed in 2024 and picks up where the first movie left off, taking us on another one-take mission as Harris is tasked with delivering a key terrorist suspect for interrogation. While both installments in the One Shot franchise proved divisive, they are undeniably impressive feats of action thriller spectacle that intensely put the spotlight on Adkins and his talent for fist-throwing.
Director James Nunn returns alongside Adkins to complete the action thriller trilogy, working from a script written by Jamie Russell, and adding Rocky, Universal Soldier, and The Expendables icon Dolph Lundgren to the fray.
