Former MLC and Telangana Rakshana Sena (TRS) president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Friday declared that she wants to become the Chief Minister of Telangana one day.
Speaking to reporters, Kavitha said there was nothing wrong in aspiring to become Chief Minister.
“The Chief Minister’s post is not merely a position of power, but one that requires dignity, respect and decorum,” she said.
Taking a swipe at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Kavitha said his style of governance had reached a point where there was no longer any need to describe his decisions as “Tughlaq actions”.
“If someone behaves strangely, one can simply say he is behaving like Revanth Reddy. That itself is enough to describe such actions,” she said.
Kavitha also launched a sharp attack on her political rivals, particularly senior BRS leader T Harish Rao.
She challenged Harish Rao’s wife to contest against her if she had the courage to do so, saying she was ready to face anyone in an electoral battle.
Kavitha recalled that she had earlier stated that she would contest against Harish Rao. However, she said that if Harish Rao’s wife wanted to contest against her now, she would welcome the challenge.
“If necessary, Harish Rao can step aside from politics and bring his wife into politics,” Kavitha said, adding that she was prepared to face whoever was fielded against her.
