The Dark Knight has quite a presence in the world of Lego, with a movie and several video games to his name. That prolific run continues because the Lego Company just revealed three new Batman sets that are arriving early next year.
Lego reveals Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck set
The first of the bunch is the Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck set, which, as its name suggests, centers on the Batmobile from the 1992 film alongside Penguin’s far less imposing duck-shaped ride. The Batmobile can jettison its sides to transform into the lean Batmissile. While this isn’t the first time the Batman Returns Batmobile has been rendered in Lego form, this version is far more affordable than the recent 2,269-piece collector’s edition, which runs for $229.99. Batman Returns Batmobile & Duck has 672 pieces and costs $59.99.
There is a Lego Arkham Batman Batmobile, too
In case you forgot that Batman is known for his wheels, there’s another Bat-themed vehicle on the way. The Arkham Batman Batmobile recreates the Caped Crusader’s ride from the 2015 video game Batman: Arkham Knight. This tank-like version of the Batmobile has functional suspension and comes with a Batman minifigure. It’s 317 pieces and goes for $29.99.
The Joker Wall Art Comic Cover
What’s Batman without his greatest foe? The third set is The Joker Wall Art Comic Cover, a buildable mural based on the cover of Detective Comics #880 (2011), which depicts a smiling Joker. Its description labels it as “3D wall art” because certain elements extend off the picture frame, like the bats and Batarangs in the top left corner. This build is the most intricate of the bunch, coming in at 1,849 pieces and $169.99. All three sets are planned for release on January 1, 2027.
Lego Batman has had a big year. On May 22, Warner Bros. Games put out Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, an open-world Batman video game inspired by Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham titles. The game earned critical praise thanks to its impressive scope and similarities to the Arkham series. It’s currently at a very solid 83 on Metacritic and a 95% user approval rating on Steam. Lego and Batman go way back, so much so that a Lego set released for $49.99 in 2008 is currently going for over 20 times its original price on secondary markets.
