Liana Flores has shared her new EP ‘And so it goes…’ in full.
Out now via Fiction / Verve Records, it’s a deft and refreshing six-tracker, one that consciously attempts to track profound shifts in her life.
Coming of age in the Norfolk countryside, life took her North to the Scottish town of St. Andrews, before relocating to London.
‘And so it goes…’ allows those experiences and emotions to percolate through her art; the bossa flourishes intermingle with radiant folk and jazzy pop aspects, brought together with real assurance.
Recorded in LA with Paul Butler, the EP presents a self-contained world, one fuelled by her gorgeous, octave-spanning voice.
“This record is the story of the country girl moving to the city,” Liana Floressays. “It’s bossa nova meets pop, inspired by the people, relationships and glamour of city life.”
“These songs were informed by my experiences living in the city and touring for the first time. I grew up and studied in small towns with nature in my surroundings, so that’s what came naturally in terms of lyrics. I also wanted to challenge myself to write songs with strong melodies that would be fun to sing or to get ready to.”
