You could buy seven pairs for the price of one
Lidl has unveiled a new pair of leggings available in its UK stores from today and the £6.99 product bears a striking resemblance to another pair being sold for £50.
This week Lidl’s Middle Aisle will be filled with autumn fashion, fitness clothing, DIY tools, and children’s clothes. One item joining the budget retailer’s offering from today (September 17) is the ESMARA Ladies Leggings. At under £7, the leggings have a faux leather look, and are soft and warm with fleece lining.
Made from 90% polyester and 10% elastane (LYCRA), the leggings also feature a “wide and comfortable elasticated waistband”. They are regular rise and have a “superior fit”, as well as being available in sizes 8-16.
The leggings look a lot like a similar pair being sold elsewhere for £50. John Lewis’ Commando 7/8 Faux Leather Smoothing Leggings are available in sizes XS to XL, and are only available online.
According to the retailer the faux leather fabric “has phenomenal four-way stretch, raw-cut edges and smoothing properties”. The 7/8 length faux leather leggings are “made with Commando’s signature internal waistband, flattering high-rise, and a slightly shorter length, raw-cut hem”.
Manufactured in the US, these leggings are made from 55% polyurethane, 44% viscose, and 1% elastane. The waistband is 72% nylon and 28% elastane.
While Lidl’s website does not feature a customer product review system, the Commando leggings sold by John Lewis have an average online rating of 4.9 out of a possible five stars. Shoppers have praised the leggings for being “flattering” and “lasting for years”.
Lidl’s ESMARA Ladies Leggings are available in Lidl stores from today (Thursday) while stocks last.
