Astrology fans have been sent into a tizz after the launch of Lush’s latest soap, which is part of their Halloween collection – and people can’t get enough of it

Lush has released a new soap bar which is perfect for astrology fans – and people can’t get enough of the quirky sentiment behind it.
The soap brand is constantly innovating and creating new products in the hopes they’ll go viral – and this latest one is certainly flying off the shelves. Part of the Halloween collection, the limited edition Silvery Moon, which retails for £6, is great for those who are obsessed with astrology, tarot readings, and are firmly in their “infusing soap with moonlight-charged water phase,” as Lush is.
The website reads: “These calming, hydrating lathers offer a cleansing of the spiritual, and the more literal kind. So, if you can’t find the time to moon bathe, you can opt for a moon shower, with rose oil, vanilla and violet absolutes.”
Shivani Khosla said that Lush made a soap for “all the witches and spiritual people” because the new soap is “infused with actual moon water”. She was left wondering whether it’d help her to “manifest all her dreams and goals”.
Shivani explained she thought it was water from the actual moon, but it’s actually water which has been under the light of the moon which people use for “rituals, cleansing, setting intentions, manifestation”.
“I hope it actually cleanses my energy, guys,” Shivani said as she claimed it “smells amazing”.
What is moon water, according to Lush, and what are the benefits?
Moon water is not water from the moon, as Shivani thought, but it’s water than has come into contact with the moon as it’s shone onto it.
According to Lush, the benefits are:
- Feel connected to nature
- Thought to be useful in intention setting
- Water wards off dehydrated skin. Hydrated skin is better able to absorb other ingredients
They make it by leaving “water in a vessel outside our premises overnight, under the moon, covered with a clear sheet to prevent any contamination”.
Reaction
Fans have been going crazy for this soap online, with some stores selling out as a result.
In the comments of the video, one woman wrote: “As a witchy girl shall I believe them that it’s real moon water?”
Shivani responded: “Can you explain what moon water does?” She claimed: “So basically, there are two types of moon water New Moon water and Full Moon water and they’re used for different purposes. New Moon water is all about new beginnings, manifestation and calling things into your life.
“It’s used when you want to set intentions, start something new, change direction or focus on a goal. Things like a new job, a fresh chapter, confidence, opportunities, love, relationships, money or personal goals are perfect intentions for New Moon water.
“Full Moon water is more about completion, cleansing, releasing and letting go. It can be used when you want to leave something behind, clear negative feelings or habits, acknowledge how far you’ve come and make space for whatever is coming next. Once you’ve made your moon water, you can incorporate it into your spiritual practice however feels meaningful to you.
“Some people wash or bathe with it, add a little to a bath, mist it around their home, spray or sprinkle it by the front door, use it to cleanse spiritual items, add it to ritual bowls or use it during spells and manifestation rituals.
“Water has a really important place in lots of spiritual traditions and is often associated with cleansing, emotion, intuition and transformation, which is why water features so heavily in many rituals and spells. Basically: New Moon = attract and begin. Full Moon = release and cleanse.”
