On the morning of Monday 18 June 2001 in East Tilbury, Essex, Danielle Jones left home to catch the bus to school. It was an otherwise ordinary, unremarkable day from her mother’s point of view – except for the fact that it was the last day she would see her 15-year-old daughter alive.
This one-off true crime documentary looks back on the sad case, and the search that became one of the biggest operations in the history of Essex Police. Ultimately, it turned into a murder investigation. Danielle’s uncle Stuart Campbell was convicted of killing his niece in 2002, and has never revealed the location of her body.
