A six-figure revamp promises much change – and the chance for new staff too

A Nottinghamshire pub has temporarily closed its doors while it undergoes a six-figure revamp.

The Bold Forester closed on Monday (October 5) ready for the renovation work which will give a fresh new look when it reopens towards the end of the month.

The Mansfield pub, part of Greene King’s Hungry Horse brand, in Botany Avenue, is getting a top-to-bottom refurbishment to provide friends, families and sports fans with a range of modern comforts.

Key highlights include a bright new interior with fresh decor, lighting and furniture, as well as a self-serve coffee machine offering customers to stay energised throughout the day with unlimited free refills.

The pub’s sports offering will be boosted with the installation of upgraded TV screens and sound systems showing the latest live fixtures on Sky Sports and TNT Sports. The toilets will also be fully redecorated.

The Bold Forester’s exterior will be improved with new signage, lighting and upgraded garden furniture.

Ahead of the official opening, the pub is looking to recruit new staff to join the team. Customers can book ahead ready for the reopening via the Greene King app.
