Melody Shari Rodgers surrendered to authorities in Alabama on September 22, her publicist has confirmed.
The Love & Marriage: Huntsville alum was taken into custody by police on Tuesday after they executed a warrant stemming from allegations that she harassed her ex-husband, Martell Holt, WHNT reports. Rodgers, who has been charged with third degree domestic violence, spent about 90 minutes at the Madison County Jail before bonding out.

The reality TV star denies the allegations against her, claiming they were made up by her ex.
“I have endured years of harassment that has affected my family, children, and livelihood,” said Rodgers, who is working with Alabama lawmakers on a bill to protect people from false and vengeful police reports. “While this is traumatizing, I know that it is far bigger than me. This is a national issue because it’s far too easy to get warrants on innocent people. That’s why Senate attorneys have written a new bill based on my situation.”
“The bill will become a law called the Melody Shari Act,” she added. “It will make filing a false police report that results in the arrest of an innocent party a felony. It will no longer be just a misdemeanor. The law will also make it easier to sue for punitive damages and go after jobs and licensures.”
In an interview with WHNT, Rodgers said that Holt told police she grabbed his arm earlier this year when they were at a school function for one of their children, leading to an injury. But Rodgers says that incident never happened.

After her arrest on Tuesday, Rodgers took to Instagram, where she shared an AI-generated video of herself walking in a protective bubble, which repelled attacks by flying monkeys, before she faced down a monster.

Rodgers left LAMH in January 2025 after nine seasons.
“To protect my own emotional health, my own mental health, I don’t allow myself to engage or be a part of a trauma that I’m still healing from,” she told Ebony of why she decided to exit the show.
“I do not watch [the series]. That is still very much a triggering piece for me because of a lot of what I went through on that show,” she added,
Holt, whom she divorced in 2021, still appears on LAMH. In the new season, which premiered September 12 on OWN, he officially introduced his girlfriend, Arionne Curry, to viewers. While this is the first time that Curry has appeared on screen, she’s been a presence on the show for years. Holt’s affair with her led to the breakup of his marriage with Rodgers. Curry later gave birth to her and Holt’s son, Maverick.
Holt has not commented on his ex-wife’s arrest.
