One of the UK’s most recognisable faces and voices will perform in Coventry next year.
Actor and performer Phil Daniels is due to appear at hmv Empire in September 2027. Now 67, the star was synonymous with two UK music movements.
In the late 1970s he became an icon of the Mod Revival scene thanks to his lead role in Quadrophenia, a drama based on The Who’s rock opera of the same name.

In the 1990s Britpop era he found a new set of music fans thanks to his famous spoken verses on Blur’s huge 1994 hit Parklife.
He has since become a well-known television actor with roles in EastEnders and more recently HBO’s Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon.
The Empire’s Facebook page states: ” Phil Daniels – Quadrophenia to Parklife. The legendary actor and musician will be performing live and in conversation, taking you on a journey from Quadrophenia through to Parklife and beyond.”
The announcement from the Coventry venue was one of four shared this week.
Cult Scottish act Del Amitri bring their tour 45 Years of Modest Failure to the city next April. It will be an evening of conversation with members Justin Currie and Iain Harvie, celebrating four and a half decades of Del Amitri including the stories behind the band and its career.
Meanwhile Clint Boon of Madchester pioneers Inspiral Carpets will appear in October 2027 while Brit Award nominated Kenny Thomas will play November of the same year.
