London artist Natanya today shares her new mixtape ‘ATTITUDE ERA!’, out via Human Re Sources.
A confection hit of post-millennia pop, hypnagogic R&B, New Jack Swing and more, Natanya trades subtlety for sonic grandeur; this is loud, unapologetic, and confronting.
Composed by Natanya, with additional production by Oscar Scheller, ‘ATTITUDE ERA!’ is a technicolour exploration of the power-play in relationships, alongside a more unflinching look into family dynamics and creative autonomy.
Speaking about the project, Natanya shares:
“Inspired by the WWE’s irreverent Attitude Era, my eponymous tape [ATTITUDE ERA!] documents my journey to fame. Stepping up as executive producer alongside Oscar Scheller, I take Feline into a wild world. I balance sweet-shop, doo-wop cuteness with dark, modern Pop’NB to explore tougher topics, like family dynamics and self-assertion in an unforgiving world. Closed mouths don’t get fed; so this music blasts open the Feline’s Return universe. With attention-demanding beats, and powerful vocals to match, I’m bringing a sorely-missed sense of bravado back to female Pop.”
‘ATTITUDE ERA! follows her acclaimed double EPs, Feline’s Return and Feline’s Return Act II, and arrives after Natanya toured alongside FLO, PinkPantheress, Ravyn Lenae, and Mereba while earning support from SZA, Tyler, The Creator, Clairo, Janet Jackson, Doechii, Coco Gauff, and Slayyyter.
This Autumn, Natanya will embark on her first-ever headline tour, with multiple dates already sold out. The 12-date run kicks off in Paris this October before making stops across Europe, the UK, and North America, including London, New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles.
