Actress Nidhhi Agerwal appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday in connection with a case involving the promotion of banned betting apps.
The ED had issued summons to Nidhhi after allegations emerged that she had received money through hawala channels in connection with her promotional activities for betting apps. She was directed to appear before the agency for questioning and arrived at the ED office today.
According to reports, ED officials questioned Nidhhi about the remuneration and commissions she allegedly received from betting apps. The actress’s appearance comes as part of the agency’s ongoing investigation into the case.
Several other film personalities, including Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati and Manchu Lakshmi, have already been questioned by ED officials in connection with the case.
Meanwhile, Nidhhi recently celebrated her 33rd birthday and launched her new film, which is a female-centric project. The actress has been waiting for strong opportunities following the disappointing box-office performances of Hari Hara Veera Mallu and The Raja Saab.
After the two films failed to make an impact at the box office, Nidhhi has struggled to land another big-ticket project.
