Opening date confirmed for The Ivy Stratford and you can already book a table

An opening date has been confirmed for Warwickshire’s first The Ivy restaurant – and reservations are open now.

The brasserie in Stratford-upon-Avon will open on Tuesday, September 29. It’s the iconic restaurant brand’s first foray into the county, although they opened The Ivy Temple Row in Birmingham in 2018, just over a century after the original London restaurant opened in the West End.

Making the most of their planned targeted audience – pre-theatre dinners – the restaurant launched a Shakespearean spectacle through the streets of Stratford to announce the news.

Local theatre company Tread the Boards bought Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet to life accompanied by violinists from SE Strings.

There will also be an exclusive drink at the venue – Juliet’s Fizz, made from locally produced Shakespeare Mulberry Gin.

The menu will feature a dedicated pre-theatre offering as well as classic signature dishes such as The Ivy Shepherd’s Pie.

The restaurant will serve 154 diners with an outdoor terrace pace for an additional 12 guests. Reservations are being taken now.

Richard Chiswell, General Manager of The Ivy Stratford-upon-Avon Brasserie, said: “Theatre and storytelling are such an important part of Stratford-upon-Avon’s character, so what better way to celebrate the opening of our reservation lines than with a little drama of our own.

“Speaking to local people today and hearing their excitement about the opening has made the occasion even more special and we can’t wait to welcome our first guests on Tuesday 29th September.”
