Manchester artist Pip Millett returns today with new single ‘Soon Enough’, out via Mixpak Records.
Her first new material since 2024 EP ‘Tell Jimmy I’m fine’, ‘Soon Enough’ explores the tendrils of familial grief over a gossamer, modern soul instrumental courtesy of Dom Valentino.
Of the track, Pip says: “When I wrote ‘Soon Enough’ I was looking back at the grief I felt as a teenager after losing my dad and my response to it. It was a painful song to write as I felt a lot of shame around my actions but in writing this, I felt like I was letting go of something.”
She continues: “When Dom Valentino and I finished the song I could’ve cried. I felt so elated and almost relieved that I’d managed to put it all into words. My younger self was really going through it and she coped with it as best as she could. I’m very proud of her.”
Born and raised in Manchester, Pip cites the likes Ms. Lauryn Hill and Joni Mitchell as key songwriting influences. She released her debut single ‘Make Me Cry’, later unveiling a live version for COLORS.
She has since collaborated and lent her vocals to tracks with artists such as Gotts Street Park, Mariah The Scientist, Chase & Status, Strandz and more.
Coinciding with her return, Pip has announced details of a stripped-back intimate tour starting next month, including a hometown show at Manchester’s Locker on October 13th and London’s Hoxton Hall on October 14th, as well as dates in Paris, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin and Cologne.
