Possible GTA 6 collectors edition appears online – ‘It’s bigger than a PS5’ | Gaming | Entertainment

A set of images circulating online appears to show a potential collector’s edition for GTA 6, despite one not currently available to pre-order from developer Rockstar Games.

As uploaded to Reddit, the images seem to show a number of massive boxes with the GTA 6 logo emblazoned on the side. Another side shows ‘Vice City Leonida’ written in that stylised text we recognise from the GTA series.

The boxes have drawn attention due to their huge size. As pointed out by some users on X, they appear to be even bigger than the box for the PS5, indicating that there could be something pretty special inside for customers willing to pay up.

However, Rockstar hasn’t officially announced any sort of collectors edition for GTA 6 yet, and given there’s just over two months left until launch, it doesn’t look like it’s set to announce one anytime soon.

In fact, there won’t even be a physical disc of the game that shoppers purchase on the shelves. That’ll be limited to just a download code to redeem on their console’s respective store.

As such, Reddit users are speculating that these GTA 6 boxes might actually be packages intended to be sent out to influencers as part of the game’s promotion.

“They might just be PR boxes to be sent out to celebrities and influencers. I would think they would’ve announced a collectors edition when pre orders went up back in June, right?,” reads one comment.

Another adds: “Pre-ordering a digital game for $175 (NZD) only to find a collectors edition option later on wouldn’t make a fan base too happy.”

Of course, these images could also be completely fake or AI generated.

Right now, the only sort of memorabilia GTA 6 fans can pre-order is a limited edition PlayStation 5 controller. It comes in either black or white, and they both went on sale earlier today.

Rockstar has done a collector’s edition of GTA games in the past with GTA V receiving a steelbook, a blueprint map, a themed snapback hat and a security deposit bag. That retailed for £119.99 back in 2013, which seems extraordinarily cheap by today’s standards.

We’ll report back if Rockstar Games announces an official GTA 6 Collector’s Edition.
